Thread Weight: A Fiber Arts Exhibition

Thread Weight, a juried exhibition of Colorado fiber artists, explores fiber as a material capable of bearing structural, conceptual, and even an emotional load. Textiles are not passive surfaces—they are vessels of memory, self-expression, and form. Curated by Fort Collins fiber artist Sarah Harris of Acorn Corner Quilts, this stunning show celebrates the presence of fiber art in the world of fine art, as well as the launch of Kestrel Fields Studio's upcoming 2025-2026 Fiber Arts residencies.

Art works on display confront gravity both literally and metaphorically, asking us to consider the tension, density, and depth that thread or yarn can hold. Far from delicate, these pieces assert fiber’s power to take up space, carry meaning, hold us, telling our stories, and leave a lasting mark.

Parking:

There are limited parking spots on-site. Look for 'Parking Spot' signs. Alternatively, you can park on Vine or Irish Drives and walk to the gallery. 

Accessibility:

To reach Kestrel Fields Studio, there is a gravel driveway approach (uneven surface), and 17 (indoor) steps to get upstairs. The gallery is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Parking right outside the building is possible.
